An Update: I'm So Sorry!!!

Hi Guys,

I apologize for my absence, I can't really say I have much of an excuse. Honestly, I broke my computer and I hate working on the computer that I'm typing on. So therefore, I haven't been in the mood to write up posts.

Therefore, I will be taking a break. The length, I'm not sure, but definitely no longer than a month. I'm currently in the predicament of to buy, or not to buy a new laptop with Christmas just a few months away.  I don't think I'll be able to wait that long. Hopefully I'll be back relatively soon.

Sorry guys,
Kendall

So sorry for not having a post up on Tuesday, some things got in the way, but I'll have a bonus post up next Thursday to make up for it, as well as a typical Sunday post.

September Wrap Up + October TBR

books 📚

Hey Guys,

First off, I apologize for this post being so late, but hey, better late than never.

I'm quite surprised with how much I read. With starting school, I thought I would only finish two or three books, but actually, I read six. (cue the cheering) While it's nowhere near the amount I was reading this summer, I'll definitely take it.

All of these books will include my rating, the goodreads rating, and they will all be linked to their goodreads page.

Without any further ado, the books I read in September:

Goodreads Rating: 4.20
My Rating: 4

I can't believe that it's taken me so long to get around to. This story was fantastic, the characters were unique, and the message was brilliant. I couldn't give it 5 stars however because it did take me a bit to get into and there were some dull points.

Goodreads Rating: 4.47
My Rating: 3

This has been my least favorite Harry Potter book so far. It took me forever to get through, but I did like the storyline.

Goodreads Rating: 3.90
My rating: 3

I hated this entire book. It was confusing and I didn't want to read it. But the ending made it all worth it and totally blew my mind.

Goodreads Rating: 4.18
My Rating: 5

I've rambled on enough about this book. I loved it. End of story

Goodreads rating: 4.05
My Rating: 3

I was expecting to love this book and it just fell flat.

Goodreads Rating:4.47
My Rating: 4

Definitely my favorite so far.

Now, I'm currently reading two books:

And then the TBR,,,

I doubt I'll get to all of these, but hey, gotta start somewhere

Top 10 Tuesday - Ten Books For Readers Who Like Character Driven Novels

Hey Guys,

Well, it's Tuesday again, and thus, we have another Top 10 Tuesday. Today's list is the 10 books you recommend for people who like character driven books. Again, I had a bit of trouble compiling this list, mainly because the majority of the books I read do have really strong main roles, and sometimes, I forget that there are books with dull and weak characters.
I don't want to put these in any particular order because I really can't commit to that, but let's just get into it.

1. The Hunger Games - Suzanne Collins (Katniss shows a ridiculous amount of development)
2. Divergent - Veronica Roth (Tris is one of the most independent and strong characters)
3. Fangirl - Rainbow Rowell (The entire story is about Cath and her growth)
4. Winger - Andrew Smith (So, so, so much character analysis and growth)
5.  Harry Potter Series - J.K. Rowling (Duh)

(Well that's only 5 but oh well)

Life Update + Posting Schedule

Hey Guys,

I apologize for the different posting schedule, I know there wasn't any warning, but I made a bit of a spur of the moment decision to start doing Top Ten Tuesday, but I'll talk about that in a minute. Since I haven't posted on Tuesday in the past, things got a bit switched around. I apologize if I confused anyone.

So for now, (it may change, I'm very indecisive) I will be posting a random book or lifestyle post on Sunday, a Top Ten Tuesday post, (though it may not always be 10), and I will continue with feel good Friday posts since they're easy and I enjoy making those ones, I may end up adding another day in there somewhere at some point, and my ultimate goal is to post everyday. But for now, I don't churn out ideas fast enough for that. Someday though.

All that aside, I feel the need to put this out there. With my current blog layout, I am unable to respond to comments. It's incredibly annoying and I'd love to make it happen, but I don't have the time to mess with my layout, and I really love the look that my blog has.

Of course, if you want to contact me, feel free to email me or send me a message on my social media.

Thanks guys,
Kendall

Top 10 Tuesday: Top 10 Books I Found Hard to Read

(Icon Credit: The Broke and the Bookish)

Top 10 Tuesday was started by The Broke and the Bookish and I encourage you all to start writing these posts as well.

When I read this topic, I knew I was going to have some issues. When a book is hard to get into, I usually don't end up reading it. I mean, I have a ton of books I want to get to in the near future and I don't want to waste my time with books I don't enjoy. So without any further ado, the top (i don't know how many) books I had trouble getting into, in no particular order

1. City of Bones - Cassandra Clare (finished, but didn't enjoy. Hard to get into for many reasons)

2. Will Grayson, Will Grayson - John Green and David Levithan (Finished, and loved. Hard to get into due to character building)

3. If I Stay - Gayle Forman (Finished, thought it was okay. Hard to get into for reasons unknown)

4. Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl - Jesse Andrews (Unfinished. Hard to read for cringe worthy language)

5. Mr. Penumbra's 24 Hour Bookstore - Robin Sloane (Unfinished, hard to read due to bland beginning)

6. Paper Towns - John Green (Finished, thought it was okay. Hard to read due to a bland story line)

7. We were liars - E. Lockhart (Finished, thought it was okay. Hard to read due to unrelatable characters and plot holes)

Off the Shelf : Winger

Well Hello There,

I'm gonna give you all a warning, I'm not sure if this will make any sense whatsoever. Just know that I really loved this book and all I want to do is talk about it. So lets start with the basics.

Winger by Andrew Smith

Pages: 439

Winger follows Ryan Dean West, a fourteen year old Junior at Pine Mountain Boarding School. As you can imagine, being that young tends to make Ryan Dean into an outcast. The book follows him as he makes his way through life trying to balance school, rugby, and his nonexistent social life. The entire story is hilarious, made even better with the occasional cartoon thrown in a la Ryan Dean's imagination. But I must warn you, the end will definitely make you cry,

I spent a lot of the time reading this book just giggling. The characters are so easy to relate to and you can't help but to side with Ryan Dean. I really felt like I was watching all of this happen from the background and I never wanted to put the book down. I was engrossed in the story and I was really sad to see it end.

Long story short, I rated it 5/5 stars on goodreads and I highly reccommend this book
